RECYCLING PEPSI

(A) PEPSI CANS

Well, well, expecting a high demand for your local Pepsi Co. cans, you had kept tons of them. But, since nobody seems to be buying them, you are think of just throwing them away. . . .

Wait! Don't do that! With a little creativity and some art equipment, you can turn those cans into something else useful (and somebody may even get trick into buying them from you. :-P)

Here's a list and description on how you can go about doing that:
1. PENCIL HOLDER
  • Open can as usual and drink it up;
  • Get one of those can opener that can open the top of the Pepsi can and remove the top of the can
  • File off any sharp edges. Then cover the cut surfaces with silicon (the white kind used to seal hole, side of built-in cupboards, bathtubs et..
  • Fill the bottom of can with cement, clay, plaster, beans, small (aquarium) pebbles to about 1cm height to weight down the can
  • Use or Display (NB: Holder can also be used to hold anything else!)
2. VASE
  • Open can as usual and drink it up;
  • Get one of those can opener that can open the top of the Pepsi can and remove the top of the can
  • File off any sharp edges. Then cover the cut surfaces with silicon (the white kind used to seal hole, side of built-in cupboards, bathtubs et.) or just insulating tape.
  • Fill the bottom of can with cement, clay, plaster to about 1cm height to weight down the can. Make sure they are gonna be waterproof!
  • Give the can exterior & interior with a few coat of vanish.
  • Put in the flowers (artificial recommended) and can be used as a center table display

3. COIN BANK
There are 2 ways to go about doing this:

METHOD 1

  • Empty can from the bottom (Use this method if you want)
  • Seal bottom with a bit of cement (melted metal if you have the equipment)
  • Using a drill, drill a hole at the top, of about cm in length and mm in width (enough to push in the biggest coin you have)
  • The Pepsi Can can now be used as a coin bank. To remove the savings, just use the can opener!

METHOD 2

  • Open can as usual & drink it up
  • Wash the interior with water (and soap if desire)
  • Air dry thoroughly
  • The Pepsi Can can now be used as a coin bank. To remove the savings, just use the can opener!
4. FLOWER POT
  • Open can as usual and drink it up;
  • Get one of those can opener that can open the top of the Pepsi can and remove the top of the can
  • File off any sharp edges. Then cover the cut surfaces with silicon (the white kind used to seal hole, side of built-in cupboards, bathtubs et.) or just insulating tape.
  • Make 2 small holes at the bottom of can for water drainage
  • Give the exterior of can a few coat of vanish.
  • Fill in with soil, plant in the flower plant (et.) and put in the Sun!
5. MUSIC INSTRUMENT
  • Open can as usual and drink it up
  • Fill in the can with dry beans, sands, small pebbles to a desirable height. Vary the amount between cans to create different sounds
  • Seal the hole with hard paper & tape or with cement
  • Now, let get rocking!
6. PAPER WEIGHT
  • Open can as usual and drink it up; OR empty can from bottom
  • Fill can with cement, plaster, sand, pebbles etc.
  • Seal all hole with paper & tape, cement or melted metal.
  • Paper Weight is now ready
7. "SPILLED" PEPSI
Saw this technique being used on some special Coke can but can't really figure out how they go about doing it. The drink is injected with some kind of hardening agent, shake and opened. The drink is allowed to ozze out and allow to dry. A straw was quickly inserted into the can. The end result is a can that looks as though the Pepsi is bubbling out of the can. (Please contact me with the actual method if you know it ) ;-)

500mL BOTTLE

1. WATER BOTTLE
I think this doesn't need that much explanation. Just don't fill the bottle with hot water or else you have to say good bye to it forever (not to forget that your drink will smell & taste strange!)
2. VASE
  • Open bottle as usual and wash thoroughly
  • Fill the bottom of bottle with cement, plaster, silicon or anything else that will dry up and become waterproof, to weight it down
  • Put in the flower, leaves etc. and display!
